400g mixed mushrooms (button, shiitake, and cremini), sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

½ teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

100ml heavy cream

100g cream cheese, softened

Salt and pepper to taste

4 slices of rustic bread (sourdough or ciabatta is ideal)

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
