Green Chili Chicken Biscuit Bake

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies, drained

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

1 tsp cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (flaky style)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, diced green chilies, sour cream, half of the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are uniformly combined.

      Assemble the Bake: Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil. Spoon the chicken mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish, spreading it into an even layer.

        Prepare Biscuits: Open the can of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. You can either quarter them directly or use your hands to tear them into rustic pieces.

          Top with Biscuits: Place the biscuit pieces evenly on top of the chicken mixture. They can overlap a bit but try to cover as much of the surface area as possible.

            Bake the Casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and fully cooked.
