Ingredients

2 fresh tuna steaks (6-8 oz each)

1 ripe mango, peeled and diced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Mango Glaze: In a medium bowl, combine the diced mango, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Marinate the Tuna: Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and season both sides with salt and black pepper. Pour half of the mango glaze over the tuna, ensuring it’s well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Heat the Grill or Pan: Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a splash of oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Tuna: Remove the tuna from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Place the steaks on the grill or skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or 3-4 minutes for medium, depending on thickness. Brush the tuna with the remaining mango glaze while cooking.

Rest and Slice: Once cooked to your preferred doneness, remove the tuna from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it against the grain into thin strips.

Serve: Arrange the sliced tuna on a serving platter. Drizzle with any leftover glaze and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with steamed rice or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
