Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 strips of thick-cut bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 tablespoons toasted pecans (for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.

Sauté the Brussels Sprouts: In the same skillet with the reserved bacon grease, add the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they start to caramelize and become tender.

Make the Maple Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, olive oil, Dijon mustard, black pepper, sea salt, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.

Combine Ingredients: Once the Brussels sprouts are browned, add the crispy bacon back into the skillet, pour the maple glaze over the mixture, and toss everything together to ensure the Brussels sprouts are well coated.

Roast in the Oven: Spread the Brussels sprouts evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, occasionally stirring, until they’re caramelized and tender.

Garnish and Serve: Once roasted, remove from the oven and transfer to a serving dish. Sprinkle toasted pecans and fresh parsley on top for an added crunch and flavor. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts!
