Ingredients

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

12 slider buns

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Pickles, for garnish (optional)

Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Season them with salt and pepper.

Make the BBQ Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.

Slow Cook: Pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreddable.

Shred the Chicken: Once done, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to ensure it is well coated with the BBQ sauce.

Prepare the Sliders: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.

Fill the Sliders: Spoon a generous amount of the BBQ chicken mixture onto each bottom half. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, evenly distributing it over the chicken.

Top and Bake: Place the top halves of the sliders on the cheese. Optionally, you can brush a little melted butter on top of the slider buns for extra flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are slightly crispy on top.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. If desired, garnish with pickles and fresh cilantro or parsley before serving. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious sliders!
